As the end of 2008 comes near close it seems it is time for predictions of just what lies ahead in 2009.
Read Write Web has put together a very interesting read on what some of the top social media experts predict  the trend to be for this upcoming 2009.
How about you do you have any predictions for this upcoming 2009?Myself I predict that the popular social blogging site Entrecard will fold this 2009 if Graham does not find some sort of funding.

It will be interesting to see how Entrecard fairs. I'll head over to read the above link to see what's ahead. Thanks Steve.

Throughout the years I've been on the net one thing I have learned (well, one of the things) was that most predictions aren't worth the paper they are printed on. Still it's interesting as an insight into the minds of the movers and shakers of the business.

I read the article. I usually don't care what a bunch of rich people have to say to us poor folks. Also, if social media becomes some sort of "velvet rope" thing, that will be a shame.

Entrecard is in need of some serious funding if it is to remain during this upcoming year.Graham needs to say good-bye to his ego,and let someone else step in.

Social media is going to be the biggest trend of 2009.Those that fail to jump onboard will be left behind.Just look what social media did for Obama, and Ron Paul raised millions with the help of social media during this past election.
Some of the biggest companies out there are jumping on the social media wagon right now.

I'm utilizing social media like crazy right now. I agree, it's all the rage in the 21st century.

I've heard of speculation that the search engines will start to take social traffic into account in their rankings, but it just doesn't seem tenable to me. I do wonder what will happen to Entrecard. It just seems to easy to game.

I am going to predict big changes for Digg..it has to change, its a terrible site that is being ruined by a those power users.
Mixx will continue to grow and will over take Digg.
I think you are right on about Entrecard.

@nicaragra blogger I have been reading some reports that digg has suffered some very substanial losses this past year, and if they do not find a way to monetize it right they could see real trouble this year.I really have no verdict out on mixx right now,but entrecard is in need of some serious re-structure.

Interesting times. I feel this year will see a big shakeout and some suprising names will go to the wall. Digg is my tip too - although that may be due to my personal dislike for the site!
