I think you have given really a good advice and suggestion for those people who are doing the business. I think everything which is depend upon the work and interest in which work have the interest to do the work and which sites is necessary for us.
I thing the tip #1 is the key to successful website. I see many cluttered websites which make me angry because I can't find the key information. Even if the customer find the product useful he may be so angry from the time lost on the website that he will not buy.
